    The melioration areas is a part of the water area where the melioration systems for drainage and irrigation regulate the water regime of the land and improve the conditions for its use. The melioration area includes: 1) agricultural, forest and construction land, land under roads and other land from which, drainage systems, enable faster and more convenient drainage of excess water; 2) agricultural, forest and construction land, land under roads and other land from which water flows to land that is protected from excess water by drainage systems; 3) agricultural, forest and other land for which irrigation water is supplied by irrigation systems. The Ministry, and on the territory of the Autonomous Province and the City of Belgrade, the competent body of the Autonomous Province, ie the City of Belgrade, determines the melioration area and its borders. According to the rulebook of the “Službeni Glasnik“ of RS No. 90/2018, melioration areas and their borders are determined: 1) in the water area "Sava": melioration areas „Beograd Sava 1”, „Beograd Sava 2”, „Podrinjsko Kolubarsko” and „Srem”; 2) in the water area "Dunav": reclamation areas „Gornji Dunav”, „Beograd Dunav 1”, „Beograd Dunav 2” and „Donji Dunav”; 3) in the water area "Morava": reclamation areas "Beograd Morava ", "Velika Morava", "Južna Morava", "Nišava" and "Zapadna Morava".

The map was made for the territory of the Republic of Serbia using SPOT 5 satellite images with a resolution of 10 m collected in 2011. The product is made in accordance with the INSPIRE specification for the topic of land cover.

Topographic map at a scale of 1 : 250 000 consists of 14 sheets. The dimension of one sheet is 150 km along the horizontal axis and 100 km along the vertical axis.
